Support Summer :)
HI Family! Over two years ago I had the crazy idea to start a small buisness to better support the needs of the youth CLIMBERS I had long coached and supported. Through an immense amount of trust and belief from our families CALIFORNIA Climbing Collective was born.
The idea was simple, start a team and open a climbing gym dedicated to leading youth and adult athletes to their full potential. Having been a coach since I turned 16 (over 10 years :0) I had some confidence i knew how to ACHIEVE this goal. With my partner Radu and my FRIENDS Alec and Chris behind me we embarked on a monumental JOURNEY.
2.5 years later we have ACHIEVED some major things together:
raised 2.3 million from our savings and funds from our athletes families
ranked nationally as a team 4th out of 150 teams at YOuth Nationals
lead 9 athletes to finals at youth nationals taking home multiple podiums
coached 1 athlete to be youth world champion and a member of the Adult U.S. National team
After immense effort we are FINALLY closing in on the finish line to get our gym open.
The warehouse is insulated.
HVAC has been installed.
Our concrete slab has been re-poured to support our CLIMBING wall INSTALLATION.,
our CLIMBING walls are sitting in a STORAGE facility in OAKLAND.
SPRINKLERS are being put in now – this is the final step of major TENANT IMPROVEMENTS to our building before we open.
OUr community has supported us IMMENSELY. We have sold numerous lifetime team memberships, annual MEMBERSHIPS. private lesson BUNDLES and have many large investments from families in our community.

Full Story of CCC
we got a warehouse. July 2023
We build a temporary gym to train our athletes as we figured the rest out. I was terrified.
We built lots of walls.
We gathered mattresses from all over to use as pads beneath the climbing walls.
The kiddos trained in there successfully for over a year. Many of them achieving their biggest comp successes yet. No kiddos got hurt!
This was the kids home. They loved training in a dirty warehouse. Somehow the kids and parents alike loved it.
I designed some logos, some really bad, some decent. We started making shirts and gear for the kids. Slowly we started building a brand.
We kept making shirts, by hand with lots of love. We kept building our brand.
We even kept winning some things. We traveled as a team all over the country. This is us in Bozeman for rope divisionals.
Homemade plywood walls aside out kids learned so much.
Over the last two years I have begun coaching at the elite level supporting my athletes at open nationals and US team trials.
I took my kiddo to events all across the country and the world. She became Youth World Champ and represent the US internationally.
A little over a year after we built the gym we tore it all down in the hopes we would start construction on a "real gym"
Eventually after a year of sitting on our hands waiting for permits and plans to be approved we finally got approval.
I insulated the mezzanine and did lots of hammering little wood inserts.
We learned to insulate with fiberglass insulation It was sweaty work and hard.
Lots and lots of insulating...
Since starting our own team we have run numerous training camps all over the West Coast.
We are excited to be building momentum for our brand and team, we are a little tired from working 7 days a week almost all the time :)
Radu and I built a parternship with another gym, helping them run their competition team, and their routesetting department. The bay loves our product and many athletes travels hours to climb our boulder problems. This is us at our second USA Climbing Event we ran for Bridges Rock Gym.
December 2025, two years and 5 months after we first signed the least we began construction.
Lots of steel to support the walls is going up in the gym right now.
